In Greek mythology, the god of wine, Bacchus, was rebuked by the moon goddess and, in order to demonstrate his power, incited a ferocious beast to attack the moon's consort, Amethyst. The moon goddess, noticing the tragedy, saved the amethyst by turning it into stone. Driven by remorse, Bacchus poured wine over the amethyst, which instantly turned a clear purple, transforming it into the beautiful purple gemstone known as amethyst. The Moon Lady Amethyst collection is designed with amethyst, a mystical gemstone that also appears in Greek mythology.
